A long summer asks a lot of a drink. It has to be cold all the way down, it has to taste of something real, and it has to survive the walk from the counter to the car. We tried a lot of ideas over the spring. These five are the ones people came back for.

01

Mango and Lime

$4.50
Mango and Lime
Mango and Lime, on the drive home.

Alphonso mango is sweet enough to stand on its own, so the lime is there to wake it up. A pinch of salt does the rest, the way it does on a slice of mango at the beach. Drink it fast. It never lasts long anyway.

02

Pomegranate

$5.50
Pomegranate
Pomegranate, pressed whole.

We press the fruit whole and add nothing. It comes out deep red and a little tart, with a dry finish that asks for another sip. It is one of the dearest things on the menu and the one we would never change.

03

Orange and Mint

$4.00
Orange and Mint
Orange and Mint, bright and balanced.

The classic, done carefully. Valencia oranges for sweetness and mint crushed by hand just before it goes in the cup, never blended, so it stays bright instead of bitter.

Cold all the way down, real all the way through.

04

Avocado and Honey

$5.50
Avocado and Honey
Avocado and Honey, under the palms.

The one that surprises people. Ripe avocado, whole milk and wildflower honey from the hills, blended thick enough to need a wide straw. It is a drink and a lunch at once.

05

Lime Sorbet, floated

$4.00
Lime Sorbet, floated
Ask for it at either counter.

Ask for a scoop of Lime Sorbet in a cup of cold soda water. It is not on the menu, and it is the coldest thing we make: sharp, clean and dairy free.

All five are on the counter at the Beach Kiosk and on Harbour Street from ten in the morning. Order ahead and we will have yours ready when you pull up.
